“Today, felt like the start of something really special”, that is how our first church wide prayer walk in Owings Mills was described. After, service this past weekend, roughly 20 from LongView prayer walked the 4.62 mile sidewalk that our church is located on (the longest is 4.7miles in Florida). Then, another larger group stayed at the church to pray.
Along the way we silently, individually prayed for each house, hotel, restaurant, bank, gas station, car and business that we passed. But then we also stopped at the Owings Mills Post Office on Red Run, The Hampton Inn on the busy corner of Red Run and Owings Mills Blvd and M&T Bank in the New Town Shopping Center and the Harbour School of Baltimore to pray as a group for (1) God’s vision, (2) God to send those He wants us to minister to (3) to heal our neighbors in our community.
We believe that if God has placed us on this amazing sidewalk through several of Owings Mills busy thoroughfares, then we have to seriously search the Lord, and this walk was just one of many steps to make a difference in our community. So, we now continue to pray for God’s vision to continue to be clarified and carried out throughout our ministry.
Check out a few pictures and we hope to see you walking with us on our next prayer walk in September.
